T-UCRs are a newly discovered class of regulatory non coding RNAs. If you're interested in micro RNAs, then it’s time to discover the T-UCRs? T-UCRs represent a group of 481 sequences that are known to be transcribed into RNA but not translated to protein. T-UCR sequences are 100% conserved between human, mouse and rat suggesting that they have a critical function influencing gene expression, probably analogous to micro RNAs or by acting as antisense inhibitors of coding mRNAs.
